Mounjaro Side Effects
Like all medicines, Mounjaro can cause side effects. Most are gastrointestinal, tend to be mild to moderate, and often ease as the body adjusts to each dose increase. A doctor assesses your risks before prescribing and monitors you throughout treatment.
The most commonly reported side effects include:
- Nausea
- Diarrhoea
- Vomiting
- Constipation
- Indigestion or stomach (abdominal) pain
- Reduced appetite
When to seek medical advice
Seek prompt medical attention for severe or persistent stomach pain (a possible sign of pancreatitis), signs of an allergic reaction, gallbladder problems, or symptoms of low blood sugar — especially if you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea. Mounjaro carries a boxed warning regarding a risk of thyroid C-cell tumours observed in animal studies.
